Around the World WOW day
Year 2 had a fantastic day exploring and investigating different countries. We looked at atlases to find the United Kingdom and all of the different countries the children represented in their clothing. We had such fun building famous landmarks using 2D and 3D shapes that many children chose to continue this learning during lunchtime as it was raining. One of our favourite activities was sending balloons into the sky. Mrs Cockerill wrote a note to leaving our school details. We hope they arrive in some exciting places and are all looking forward to seeing what messages we receive. Finally, we enjoyed tasting breads from different countries this afternoon. We tried bagels from Poland, croissants from France, naan from India, pitta from the Middle East, rye from Holland and tortilla from Mexico. We loved the croissants. Many of us were brave and tried the rye bread, even though it was brown, and some of us even liked it!
