Fiction – Meeting Tale – Billy the Brave Knight
We will be learning the tale of Billy the Brave Knight​, and exploring the features the author has used and the effect they have. We will then learn how to write our own similar meeting tale, which will include a lot of action.
Non-fiction - Recount – Flag Fen Trip
We will be exploring what makes a good recount and the features that it should include, before writing our own recount of our trip to Flag Fen.

Reading

Maths - Mass, capacity and temperature & Fractions
We will measure, compare and order mass in grams and kilograms and volume in litres and millilitres. We will also start to explore temperature by learning about degrees Celsius.
When learning about fractions, we will recognise and find halves, quarters and thirds. We will also learn what non-unit fractions and unit fractions are.

Science – Plants
We will explore what plants need to survive by planting seeds and observing them over time to describe and explain how they grow into mature plants. We will learn that plants need water, light and a suitable temperature to grow and stay healthy.

Design and Technology – Templates and Joining Techniques – Weaving Stone age clothes
We will design, make and evaluate a stone age item by investigating fabrics, how to join them together and how to use some finishing techniques to complete the product.

History – How do we know about the Stone Age?
In History we will learn all about the Stone Age, with the overarching question 'How do we know about the Stone Age?'. We will learn about the hunters of Doggerland, hunter-gatherers, what pre-historic, Skara Brae, Stonehenge and how Stonehenge was built.

Computing – Data handling: International Space Station
We will explore how astronauts’ survival needs are met aboard the ISS, in addition to interpreting data to decide whether humans could live on a planet or not.

Art - Printing – Cave Art
We will be using natural materials to paint Stone Age cave paintings, by adding natural materials to paints.

RE – Why does Easter matter to Christians?
We will think about the signs of Easter and new life before learning about why Easter is important to Christians. We will also learn the Easter story and symbols of the Easter story in the world around us.

PSHE – Citizenship
We will learn about the rules, responsibilities and expectations in the school environment. We will also look at jobs in the local community that help the community and keep the area pleasant. We will learn to recognise and respect similarities and differences between people in the local community.

PE – Frisbee & Dance
Frisbee – we will work on throwing and catching using a frisbee. We will learn about the difference between backhand and forehand throwing. We will work on our hand eye coordination to aim at targets.
Dance – Line Dancing- we will learn to dance in lines - moving as one in unison. We will learn how to do this across different songs and line dancing styles.
